American Gladiator Siren, whose real name is Shelley Beattie, was born on August 24, 1967, in Santa Ana, California. She was a professional bodybuilder, powerlifter, and wrestler before joining the cast of American Gladiators in 1990.
Siren quickly became a fan favorite for her intense athleticism and competitive spirit, and she remained a cast member until the show was canceled in 1996. During her time on the show, she competed in events such as Joust, The Wall, and Assault.
Despite her success on American Gladiators, Beattie struggled with addiction and mental health issues throughout her life. She was diagnosed with bipolar disorder and attempted suicide multiple times. In 1998, she was hit by a train and lost both of her legs, but she continued to compete in adaptive sports events and became an advocate for disability rights.
Beattie passed away on February 16, 2008, at the age of 40 from complications related to pneumonia. She remains a beloved figure in the world of American Gladiators and is remembered for her strength, perseverance, and dedication to fitness.
